Myhoody is a family-run beachwear business based in Mount Maunganui on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island. Shereen and Tim Bell started Myhoody in 2017.
The brand has taken two of the greatest parts of Kiwi culture – beach life and ingenuity – and woven them into an innovative Microfibre hooded towel.
With more than 15,000km of beaches in New Zealand and lakes and swimming holes dotted around the country, a love for water is deeply ingrained in our culture.
Shereen’s love of the water stemmed from days spent at the beach as a child. In her teens, she joined the Red Beach Surf Lifesaving Club and after moving to the Bay of Plenty, she embraced fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding.
For Tim, it started with his family holidays camping, sailing and water skiing. Tim now appreciates the fishing and surfing lifestyle in his spare time.
After moving to Mount Maunganui and fostering twins, Shereen and Tim carried their passions through to their own family, often enjoying the outdoors, fishing and surfing.
Following the pair’s experiences and seeing parents struggling poolside with regular towels, they sought an easy-drying, quick change alternative.
